Time to Shake My Pom Poms!!!

I'm so excited to be able to participate in this blog hop and want to take a min to give a big cheer to Madame Samm who comes up with these great blog-hop themes and to Thearica for being our Cheer Leader Captain for this super fun hop. Thanks so much ladies for all the work you have put into this for us!!!

My projects started out very simply. My first thought when deciding on what I should put a 'pom pom' on was that my dd had a shirt that had originally had a bright orange pom pom on it. She loved the shirt, but not that bright orange. So I went searching for the right color yarn to match the shirt and proceeded to 'fix' it for her. I think it looks just about right now:)

After this all I could think about was bunny tails:) So I went searching on Pinterest and found a couple of projects that I thought I could tackle.  First I found these super cute crochet bunnies and even though my crochet skills are pretty basic, I was able to whip up these sweet little bunnies...

The only thing I changed was that instead of crocheting a tail on them, I made pom poms for tails:)

But I wasn't done, I needed more bunnies!!! So I found these really cute bunny hand puppets as well.
I made a couple small changes from the pattern, but pretty much kept them the same. They have felt pom pom tails:)

If you are interested in making either of these projects, please follow the links I provided.

And here are the links to all of today's Blog Hop Cheerleaders....

Finally - An Update!!

This month is just kicking my hind end!! It seems like we have just been going and going, but it is getting close to everything settling down again - well as much as life ever settles down:)

I do have a little stitching to show off, though most of it is/was late for dead lines. And about half of it was goodies found in my mail, not stitched by my hand, but that counts as finishes in my book too:)

I did this one as an exchange for a Yahoo board I am on. It turned out so cute, thanks to an idea that my dd had for it. The design had you stitch what was to look like lace all around the edges and on the heart. I hate stitching with white though, I just never can make it look like I want it to. My dd suggested that I hand sew on some lace then, so that's what I did, and I think it turned out really well.
UMM, this one is still Spring Ornie from Prairie Schooler. Yes, this is my ornie project for MARCH!! I wouldn't count on it getting done this month either.
And here is a piece I received in the mail. This was a 'bird' themed block exchange. I love the bright and happy colors on this:)
And finally, this is what I received in the mail as part of the seasons/holiday exchange that I did the heart piece for. I love the Blackbird Stocking!!!

It'll be another busy couple of weeks, but I'm hoping to get a few more projects done. Hopefully I'll be able to blog a bit more, but if not, I'll get back to regular blogging pretty soon:)

April TUSAL report:)

Time for the April Totally Useless SAL!! This SAL is brought to us by DaffyCat, and it is purely a fun and 'artsy' way to show off some of our useless bits of thread and yarn leftovers.

My bits are seen in the top part of my jar with the past months inside the jar. As you can see, I didn't get as much done this month. Just too many other things taking my time, but hopefully in the next few weeks things with calm down here just a bit and I'll be able to spend more time stitching:)

April's YOTA progress

I had lots of fun working on my YOTA project this month!! What is YOTA, you may ask? It stands for 'Year of the Acronym' and the idea is to work on an older project for at least the first Saturday of the month, and can be found at 'Pull the Other Thread'. The project I have chosen to work on is 'The Four Seasons' by Marjolein Bastin. I usually work on the project through the whole first weekend of the month though as I never do want to put it down:)

As I am doing this project over 1 on 28 ct fabric, it really never feels like I'm getting anywhere on it. The stitches are so tiny!!

My project as of March

As of April 8th

Can you see the difference? :) The only things I have left in this little section are a bit more on the shadowing and to finish up the birds on the bench. Next I will move over to a cute little hedgehog:)

April's To Do List

Photobucket

Thearica of Pig Tales and Quilts is the host of this monthly challenge. The purpose is to list 5 craft related goals that you want to accomplish during the month and then at the end of the month reveal how much you actually got done!! Since I have been lagging behind on my 52 in 52 goals and since this month, and the next, are my busy with all sorts of non-crafty things month - you know the months of the year when all the birthdays, anniversaries, activities start to melt into one big 'running-around-like-a-chicken-with-your-head-cut-off' frenzy. Hopefully taking a minute to really think on what things I still want to try and accomplish will help to organize my thoughts and help me to get more done.

For April I would like 'To-Do':

1. Finish my March ornie and my April ornie:)
2. Finish and send off the Tractor block for LoveQuilts
3. Finish and send off and exchange package
4. Sew 5 more rows on my patchwork quilt and sew all rows, that I have so far, together
5. Finish my Pom Pom projects and post for the 'Shake Your Pom Poms' blog hop - see left sidebar.

I have lots of other non-stitch things that need to get done this month as well. It's just a busy time of year:) Hopefully I can get part of that first 'To-Do' item marked off by tomorrow or Thursday. Just almost done with my March ornie!!
